| Jerry sat in with Los Lobos on their encores during their opening set for the Grateful Dead.
David Hidalgo of Los Lobos sat in with the Dead during their set.
.....
and from msg on thephilzone, Sat, February 28.
"Purple Haines and I went to see Los Lobos here in Las Vegas last night. Great show! Cover of One Way Out was very cool.
The band signed autographs after the show and good ol' Purp asks Cesar Rojas to tell us a quick story about Jerry.
Cesar stops dead in his tracks and says "Boy, there are so many. He was just so kind." Then he takes a long pause and gets really, really emotional and says to us, "Really, Really, Really - Jerry was a SOUL MAN. Just a pure Soul Man and one of the kindest people I have ever met."
....and from rocknrollgoddess on thephilzone Monday, 3/2/09: I can't remember the whole story but I recall that Jerry gave David Hidalgo a cherry 58 stratocaster.... |
