Several reviews of the show were published in Milwaukee newspapers, though little mention is made of the New Riders. Dean Jensen, "Lively Bash by Grateful Dead Has Jugs of Wine, Little Verse," Milwaukee Sentinel, March 22, 1971, p. 5. "The Grateful Dead Concert," Bugle-American v.2 n.11 (#24), March 18-24, 1971, first page of second section. There is brief commentary which includes a photo of the New Riders in performance. There is also a review of the show on p. 18 of the same issue of the paper under the column heading "The Musiccricket"..."I attended the show with my older brother and his wife. New Riders also played, with Jerry on pedal steel. I still have the original poster. The WI band Ox opened, the New Riders played, then the Dead played, for a long time. Hours.
